The Lord Wants To Trust You

When we receive Christ into our hearts and lives, He makes us into new creatures. We were individuals that He could not trust but He makes us new creatures that He wants to trust with a most precious commodity, the gospel.

John 2:23: Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. 24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, 25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The Apostle Paul knew that God had trusted Him with ministry and He also knew that if we have received Jesus He wants to trust us with ministry. I capitalized the word WE in this passage:

1 Thessalonians 2:4: But as WE were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so WE speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

Galatians 2:7: But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

1 Timothy 1:11: According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. 12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; 13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

I too was a blasphemer, a persecutor and injurious. I too obtained mercy. I hope you didn*t miss that important phrase He enabled me, for that he counted me faithful.

Titus 1:3: But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

If you have received Jesus, it is a huge mistake to believe that God does not have ministry for you.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

If you have received Jesus, as long as you fail to fulfill the ministry He has for you, you can expect to be more joyless than you were before you were saved. I know a lot of believers like that. Haven*t experienced that joylessness yet? Sooner or later you will! When some believers experience that joylessness they fear that they are unsaved. What a horrible price to pay for living in the flesh and not fulfilling what He wants to trust you with. Hard to fathom that individuals God is willing to trust can so quickly and easily break His heart and let Him down.
